The deeper I get into this series, the better the books become! Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano was, to date, my favorite of the series! Yes, there is still hijinx, but this time, it really isn’t Finlay’s (or Vero’s) fault. Blackmailed into finding the contract killer she found herself competing with last book, she decides to sleuth it out at the citizen’s police academy hosted by the love of my life, Detective Nick 😍. This was honestly the one book of the series so far where everything seemed to make sense. I suspected someone from the very start and had just the technicalities wrong. The actual culprit made sense and didn’t come out of nowhere like it did in book 1 or book 2. We seem to be settling into a rhythm within the series with everything starting to line up. There’s a little character twist, which I enjoyed, AND we get some moves finally being made between Finlay and Nick. Overall, I’m glad I’ve continued with the series since it honestly just keeps getting better.
