Ten years ago, I let the love of my life slip through my fingers. It’s my greatest regret, especially since she’s all but disappeared. When she walks back into my world unexpectedly, I have one mission — win her back. Whatever it takes.
But the gorgeous, brilliant, tough-as-iron Shannon has secrets of her own, and a family past she’s trying to escape.
Slowly but surely, I break down her walls over our sinful nights together, with a connection more passionate than ever, an intimacy more fiery than it was before.
But the past can only stay behind you for so long. And when the people who want a piece of her family start circling her, I’ll have to prove I’m the man to protect her from her suddenly dangerous present.
*MY SINFUL NIGHTS is a reimagining of the 2015 story SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS (no longer available for sale). MY SINFUL NIGHTS has been rewritten in first person with an entirely new romance for Shannon and Brent, new characterizations and new conflict in this second chance romance!*

review

I wanted something short and steamy to listen to at work, so I picked up My Sinful Nights by Lauren Blakely, knowing how much I love her work in general. This was no exception. Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are perfect narrating Brent and Shannon. Arden was perfectly able to capture the immense amounts of regret and yearning from Brent, while Ardnt embodied the vulnerability of Shannon. The story was incredibly fast paced. We went from the past to current day and everything just fell right into piece. It almost feels like this is just precursor to the rest of the series. Don’t get me wrong, I still loved it. I think my younger self would’ve eaten this up and thought this was the best thing in the world. Now, I think this follows pretty standard plot points and is good as a quick read. The tension lacked a little between characters but the spin and chemistry between Arden and Arndt more than make up for it.

I think I would recommend My Sinful Nights by Lauren Blakely for anyone looking to read a quick and steamy romance with the promise of plot to come in the following books in this series. I’d recommend reading this as an audiobook over ebook, simply because Joe Arden and Andi Ardnt’s performances really make it worth it.
